Police Equipment

As you've probably noticed over the last couple of posts; I have been emphasising the importance of choosing the right police equipment. Everything from the socks you put on in the morning to your jimmy jams at night Patrol Store seems to have it covered with their police equipment catalogue (well maybe not your jimmy jams).

I often find when shopping for police equipment that you go in looking for one item and come out with a handful. Equipment that you forget you need stare you in the face and you can't help but buy them! I think they call it impulse buying! And over the past few visits to Patrol Store we have realised what suckers we are for it.

But are we complaining.... Most certainly not! We've picked up some great deals on police equipment along the way, and with the lowest price guarantee that they offer we are safe in the knowledge that we cannot get our hands on this gear any cheaper elsewhere.

So here's the deal; I'm going to list our personal favourite police equipment that we have ordered in the past and why we would recommend them;

Police Boots - Magnum Panther 8.0 Side Zip - Fastly becoming the most popular boot within police forces around the UK. Comfortable, Affordable and will last you about 5 years if looked after.

Police Gloves - Safe Search Puncture Resistant Gloves - Good quality slash resistant gloves. Good price on a good product.

Patrol Belts - Viper Security Belt Patrol System - Has every kind of holder you can imagine such as mobile, glove, torch, handcuff, notebook etc.

Bags and Cases - Endurance Multi-Use Kit Bag - 150 Litre versatile bag which is ideal for extended trips or where you have a lot of operational kit to carry.

Police Torches - Op Zulu Tactical Torch - This torch offers unbeatable brightness, run time and durability at a great price.

Hopefully this is useful advice for anyone in a muddle about what to buy.

5.11 Tactical Pants

Yes that's right.... The 5.11 pants (I struggle to say that without putting on an American accent)range are your reliable, comfortable and long lasting "trousers" that you MUST buy....

Described on their website as "being made famous by the FBI National Academy, the authentic 5.11 Tactical Trousers are made with comfort, durability, and lasting performance in mind. While there are many imitations, the 5.11 tactical pants have been a staple in Law Enforcement for over 30 years"

So why fix that aint broke... Feedback is always great about 5.11's tactical pants range and with good reason. I'm taking into account the price of the prodcuts too. You can pick up a pair for £39.99 at PatrolStore . The durability of the product itself warrents the price tag.

The closest we have come to finding a product as good as 5.11's tactical trousers/pants are blackhawks range. They are competative with their prices and are reliable but be sure to do your research before you splash the cash.

Choosing The Right Police Boots

Whether you have 20 minutes or 20 years of experience in the police force you will know that your Police Boots are probably the most important piece of gear any officer will have to buy. So choosing the right style of boot is an important decision.

In today’s post I will compare the different style of police boots and compare pricing, aiding you in what will prove to be the right decision for you. Using the website http://www.patrolstore.com/ as my pricing source I will try to find you the best value for the product you are looking for. I am using this website as they guarantee the cheapest price on the market, however if you are able to find a better deal elsewhere, they promise to match it.

I'm going to start with the Magnum Range of Police Boots that are fastly becoming the most popular boots on the market. They offer a wide range of police boots so if Magnum are the brand for you then be sure to check out their full catalogue as I will only cover a few in my blog.

Offering competitive prices on their high quality police boots factors their growth over the last couple of years. The most popular Police Boot that Magnum offer is the Magnum Classic CEN Boots offering stability and comfort. This particular boot is popular amongst doormen tagging them as breathable, reliable and comfortable. You can pick up a pair of these for £52.50

Magnums current best seller is the Magnum Panther 8.0 Side Zip and there is a good reason for this. Hugely popular amongst police officers on patrol with the boot being labelled as very comfortable with a long life expectancy. The zip makes putting the boots on easy and quicker as you do not have to lace up every time. In all; they offer good all round protection for the foot and when tied right and tightly enough provide protection for the ankle. You can get your hands on a pair of these for £47.98

For the lucky ones with a bit more disposable income that really want to buy a high quality pair of police boots then 5.11 XPRT Tactical Boots would be a good choice. These tactical boots are the tactical boots of choice for urban tactical operators. The full-grain leather and nylon upper material is comfortable and durable providing longevity. For full specs check out the link as it would take me all day to do it any justice. You can buy these for around £110.

I will finish with my personal favourite although again you will need to fork out more money to get your hands on a pair of these. I am talking about the Lowa Boots Mountain GTX that seem to tick all of the boxes. General feedback from these police boots has been fantastic. Completely waterproof these boots also vent out sweat within the boots keeping your feet completely dry from first to last. Lowas Mountain GTX boots are a truly top-class model suitable for even the most difficult terrains and testing weather conditions. To get your hands on a great pair of boots like these it will set you back around £128.

I hope this has been helpful to some extent in your quest for new police boots. Always make sure you get as much information on the product as you can before you make a purchase and always ask about a warranty.
