Police Recruitment - "Positive Action"

Once again police recruitment and 'positive action' is being mentioned in the press, in connection with suitable white male police officer candidates having their applications to join the police service turned down.

One report states that Gloucestershire Constabulary has been reported to the Commission for Racial Equality over accusations that it has discriminated against 109 white male job applicants during a recent recruitment drive.

Gloucestershire Constabulary in another report call it “positive action”. Stating it’s the “only realistic way of ensuing we maintain a diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve.”

There have been several other reports concerning police and positive action including;
